January 19, 2018 - Jackson Motor Speedway sets Awards Banquet for Feb. 9 with Mike Boland as Special Guest
Byram, MS – Jackson Motor Speedway officials are pleased to announce that the 2017 Track Champions along with other top points drivers in each of the track's weekly divisions will be recognized on Friday night February 9th, 2018. This year’s Awards Banquet will be held at the Richland Community Center in Richland, MS.

“We are excited about this year’s banquet,” exclaimed track co-owner Joey Moak. “A ton, I mean a ton, of work has gone into this year’s banquet. Several people have volunteered their time and resources to make this banquet the best JMS has ever seen”.

“We are going to recognize the top 5 points positions for our Nesmith Crate Late Models, Nesmith Street Stocks and our Open Wheel Modified Divisions. We have decided to recognize the top 10 in our Factory Stock division as they were our largest class all year,” commented Raymon McAlpin.

One of the biggest questions is always; what are we eating? This year’s menu is some good ol' BBQ. “Food is my area when it comes to JMS,” stated Amanda McAlpin. “This year’s menu will consist of pulled pork and smoked chicken breast that you will be able to top with your favorite bbq sauce. We will have some awesome sides and desserts to go with the meats. Everyone just needs to come out and enjoy the night and help us recognize and celebrate our champions and top points guys.”

Jackson Motor Speedway is excited to announce that 7 time Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series champion Mike Boland will serve as this year’s Featured Speaker. “Mike has a wealth of knowledge about our sport; he has pretty much done it all,” stated Moak. “Mike has won over 700 feature events; has traveled the country racing; and is one of the most successful chassis builders in the South. I’m looking forward to hearing what Mike has to say and I hope we pack  the community center for him and all our drivers and crews that are being recognized.:”

The 2017 Jackson Motor Speedway Rookie of the Year will also be announced. Look for several more exciting announcements in the coming days. It will be a night that racers and fans don’t want to miss.
